Like clockwork
All yachts in the program are proactively maintained. For example, if a pump is rated for 5000 hours of use, PartnerShips replaces it after 4,000 hours, (about 80% of its life). Instead of waiting for something to break, our policy is to replace or rebuild on a pre-emptive basis. All maintenance is scheduled in advance and between owner usage. This process includes a complete exterior refit, interior refurbishment (fabrics, carpets, bedding, china, etc.), and machinery overhauls every five years, or as needed.
Every aspect of yacht maintenance and management is quantified and recorded using the yacht’s onboard administration software. The information compiled by the crew is remotely downloaded to our office and reviewed by our land-based management staff. Managers are constantly in contact with our captains to assist in organizing owner use, maintenance, transitioning schedules, shipyard negotiations, accounting, provisioning, and other operational matters.
The annual maintenance fee includes crew salaries, home port dockage, water and electric, comprehensive insurance, transitioning costs, management fees, and all normal, predictable yacht maintenance expenses. Even major refits, refurbishments, and engine rebuilding is factored into this maintenance fee. Although extraordinary and unpredictable expenses resulting in an assessment may occur, considerable effort is put into avoiding these incidences. Provisioning and other personal expenses, such as fuel, food and alcohol, are the responsibility of each PartnerShips owner.
